Feeling like you need some pampering and a good dose of ‘dolled up’ this winter? So do we! The universe has heard our prayers and gifted us with non-other than the arrival of Beautycon. With under seven days to go, it has all beauty enthusiasts in the UK counting down with excitement and here at Debut we’re no exception. Beautycon returns to London Olympia for the fourth time around this 2nd December and boasts to be the beauty event of the year.
If you’ve never heard of Beautycon, we’re not sure where you’ve been hiding. One thing we can tell you, is that it’s a beauty event like no other. Thousands of beauty enthusiasts, bloggers, youtubers and vloggers come together to celebrate ‘millennial beauty’ – at least that’s what it’s been coined in all the articles we’ve read while researching for this piece. However, Beautycon CEO Moj Mahdara sees it as a lot more than that.
“I’m infatuated by the idea that beauty can be something beyond a concealer culture,” “It’s always, like, ‘Do you hate those aging spots on your face?’ As opposed to ‘You’re already fierce, you’re amazing, you slay. These products are for people who feel great about themselves.’ She explains.
And if that doesn’t say Girl Power, we don’t know what does! The great thing about Beautycon is that it’s inclusive of absolutely everyone with even the slightest interest in beauty and re-defines the definition of beauty as we’ve known it.
Beautycon is for “All races, all genders, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations.” “I’m brown, I’m gay, I’m chubby,” Mahdara, who is Iranian-American, says. “I’m not someone who would normally be on the cover of a magazine.”
Yet she is the CEO and brains behind one of one of the world’s most successful beauty events. The festival which she tells us is pretty much ‘Sephora meets Coachella’ will be hosted on 2nd December by Alesha Dixon and boast an amazing line up of men and women ready to share their blogger/vlogger and celeb beauty secrets with us. Amongst them you’ll find the likes of Jordyn Woods, Olivia Buckland, Patricia Bright, and Ollie Lock plus a number of brilliant brands offering discounts, testers, goodie bags and much more!
Get your tickets now on the link below and see if you can spot us on the pink carpet! See you on the 2nd.
