It’s often nice to have someone tell you “well done”, and it’s so easy to let yourself depend on others for a confidence boost, but, there becomes a point where you have to be able to turn to yourself and be able to say “I know I can do it”. In this day and age, there is so much constant competition, that you really do need to be able to rely on your own self-belief to get you through anything.
A big difference I’ve noticed between successful people and unsuccessful people isn’t a higher level of intelligence nor more resources, but it’s the belief they have in themselves that they can achieve whatever they want to do. We all deal with vulnerability, uncertainty and failure, yet the ones who believe they can prosper, are usually the ones who do succeed. I believe in myself, and that is why I succeed.
Depending on others to give you confidence is never the best idea, because it means you are hanging off their every word. If they say they don’t think you can do something, you should ignore them, take their doubt and put it into a form of incentive to do what you know you can do – and what they didn’t think you could! That’s why it’s important to have a belief in your own capabilities, because at the end of the day you can only succeed if you are willing to believe in yourself and persevere.
A lack of self-belief can stop you from doing things that you would otherwise be able to do, it can prevent you from following your dreams and ambitions. Believing in yourself is one of the first steps to success (as cheesy as that sounds). If you don’t have confidence in yourself, it will be difficult to succeed in anything! To do better for yourself, you must believe in yourself and the idea that you can succeed in whatever it is you want to do. The key is to always think positive, because thinking negative kills any opportunities that may come your way and creates a sense of doubt on your own capabilities which automatically prevents yourself from believing in the fact that you can do whatever you set your mind to.
Seeing bigger goals and visualising them is another ‘step to success’. In order to have success in your life, you not only need to be able to believe in yourself, but you need to be able to have a clear vision of the success. No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can believe in yourself (no matter what other people say) you can do it.
The most important factor of believing in yourself, is that don’t worry about making mistakes. The best thing about making mistakes is that you get to improve and better yourself because it’s only human to make mistakes. No one is perfect in this world, so never be afraid to act in-spite of fear and discomfort and just believe in yourself and do what you think is best.
